If you smell gas, hear a hissing sound, or suspect a gas leak:

• Leave the area at once leaving door open
• Evacuate everyone to a safe distance (outside of building or house or suspected area)
• Call 800-942-8071 or 256-354-2194 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. After 4:00 p.m. call 256-252-6000 or Ashland Police Dept. 256-354-2122
• Do not operate electrical switches including light switches, doorbells, garage door openers, and appliances
• Do not use lighters or matches. Avoid open flames
• Do not start vehicles or operate any equipment
• Do not smoke
• Do not use phones including cell phones. (Only call once you have evacuated to a safe distance.)
